    Barbara Alford

    — President

    Barbara is a native New Yorker who has lived in the Wiregrass since 1978.  Her professional background includes secondary school, community college, and university experience, as well as positions in business and industry. Since 2004, Barbara has consulted with colleges and universities, schools, and community organizations to acquire additional financial resources, gain matching support for initiatives, design new programs, identify and develop strategies to meet challenges, and acquire and/or maintain accreditation. Barbara has degrees from Brooklyn College (NY) and Troy State (AL), and a doctorate from Auburn University.  Barbara’s son, Charles, and granddaughter, Katherine Grace, live in Cumming, Ga

    Cindy Bedsole

    — VP Administration & Grant Management

    Originally from Detroit Michigan, Cindy, has called Alabama home since her early teens. Her professional background includes office management, human resources, accounting, and facility/lease management. Since 2005, Cindy has established her career in philanthropy, focusing in grantee relations and grant evaluation. Among her Professional Development achievements are Leadership Dothan, and The Southeastern Council on Foundations’ Hull Fellows program for emerging leaders in philanthropy. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Psychology/Sociology at Troy University. Cindy is a member at Wiregrass Church and has two children, Clay and Christy, and three grandchildren, Grey, Marlee, and Hank.


  • Amber Hancock

    Amber was born and raised in Dothan, AL. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1993 and attended both Troy University in Troy and Wallace Community College. She began working with AAA Cooper Transportation the following year and spent 15 years in the trucking industry before making her move to Wiregrass Foundation in May 2009. Amber is happily married to Lee Hancock, a Fort Rucker firefighter, and has two beautiful children, Brently and Preston. She is a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church in Midland City and enjoys boating, fishing and beach trips with her family.
